Sitting proudly under the cowling, powered by STIGA, is the high-capacity (452cc) ST 500 single-cylinder engine. Features include overhead valve technology that works to cut fuel consumption and minimise the output of polluting exhaust emissions; and an easy start ignition-system, which ensures dependable starting at each time of asking.

Boasting a foot-pedal-operated hydrostatic transmission, the GT 43HR offers infinitely adjustable ground speed control in both forward and reverse, which in turn provides superior manoeuvrability, negotiating landscaping, trees and other garden obstacles with ease.
A series of anti-scalp deck wheels work to protect the ground surface when you’re turning on uneven terrain; while electromagnetic blade activation means no effort is required to get mowing.
Not just for long grass, the GT 43HR available with an optional mulching kit that will enable you to achieve superb results on formal, frequently cut lawns, with the mulched clippings acting as an effective, 100% organic fertiliser. The cutting height on this model can be varied through seven stages between 25 and 80mm to suit the prevailing conditions.
A tow hitch is also available as an option.
