- Type Full Time
- Position Transport Co-Ordinator - Any Russells Depot
- Branch Any Russells Depot
- Salary Available on request
Russells are one of the leading dealerships for Agricultural, Professional Groundcare, Construction and Arboriculture machinery in the UK.
We’re recruiting a Transport Co-Ordinator, this role is office based, but from any of our depot locations. This role can be either, 1 x Full Time Role or alternatively, 2 x Part Time Roles. For anymore information about the role, please speak to Phil Maw.
Job description:
Key responsibilities:
- Import the transport requests from the email to the spreadsheet
- Prioritise the requests from urgent to when available.
- Communicate with drivers and create a list of jobs for them.
- Communicate with sales staff and service managers to make sure things are done in a timely manner and things are ready for the wagon when it arrives.
- Communicate with customers if collecting or delivering machinery to farm to make sure they are available and have the means to load / unload.
- Plan movement orders for wide loads in advance.
- Understand basis driving hours and load spacing for when planning loads.
- Keep records up to date and import movements onto IBCOS GOLD so it is visible to everyone where stock is located and for audit purposes.
- Be flexible where required to accommodate for breakdowns and demos when movements are needed urgently.
Points of Note:
- Communication is a key point of this role, keeping people informed on what is happening and when to keep the wagons running as smoothly as possible but it is not a job where you can plan too far in advance as this change on a regular basis and you need to be flexible to be able change the plan last minute and think about which wagon / driver can do what to make sure all the urgent movements are done when required.
- Organisation is another big part of this role as planning a sensible day where the wagons are loaded as much as can be but on a round trip so they can return to the yard at night within their driving hours.
- Quote from the outgoing Transport Co Ordinator: “This is a fun role that can be a fast paced at times but always keeps you thinking and on your feet with no two days are ever being the same.”
